Ted Hurst  - Wide Receiver - Georgia State

1 - Contested catch work & In-air athleticism

2 - Yards after catch & contact

3 - Route running capabilities

Uses his length & frame well to extend for balls outside of frame. Plays through contact with the requisite intent, but can struggle to finish through the catch point with consistency.

Average depth of target of 15 yards & had 34 catches of 20+ yards last two seasons which was the most in the FBS. Had times where he was completely dominant downfield - when you take into consideration how poor Georgia State was, it was definitely impressive.

Competitive, with great explosive qualities coupled with 80th percentile play speed. He’s also a dynamic mover for 6’3 and shows good feel for space openings/closures.

Would have liked to see him operate out of the slot more to take advantage of his post-catch skills, only 17% slot rate - far too low for someone of his athletic caliber.

The same dynamic traits post catch show up in route. Abrupt decelerator with sounds through break qualities & pathing capabilities for his size. Would have liked to see more 1st level targets - his movement skill & size presented a challenge for the lower level competition in the quick game.

He has qualities that both Quentin Johnston & Treylon Burks exhibited as prospects. Johnston has become a serviceable WR2/3 while Burks is still hanging around as a WR3 on the Commanders depth chart. Hurst has an uphill battle to prove he can be as competitive at the NFL level as he was in the Sun Belt.

Late Day 2 is the appropriate spot for him.
