Underrated, traditional "X" receiver. Skillset as a contested catch athlete is wide- ranging & near blue-chip.
Has the control, play strength, and ball skills to win when the ball is in the air. Displays an effective rip away technique to shield from defenders - extremely tough to play through that with Boston’s frame.
May be the best redzone receiver in this cycle. Uses his size effectively to box out & out position defensive backs.
There is not a sizeable difference between Tyson & Boston as a boundary operator, right now - Boston has a cleaner outside game with Tyson, the greater long-term upside.
Boston profiles as a solid WR2 in an NFL offense while Tyson has the traits that could help him develop into a cornerstone player.
Has experience as a kick returner, and it shows up post-catch. Above adequate pathing as a screen/short area receiver with great play strength & competitive toughness with the ball in his hands. Makes defenders “feel” his presence.
Not going to make many defenders miss, and won’t create explosives with speed. Thin toolbox post-catch, but one that is effective due to the physical nature he plays with.
Enjoyed Boston’s work from the slot & ability to operate with a two way go - excellent throttle control for his size, and shows the ability to quickly separate on short targets. As a route runner, he likes to use his play strength to shield defenders & wins with later separation windows rather than at the LOS.
Isn’t an overly abrupt mover, however he doesn’t need to be with his size. Boston can play inside / out & offers a comfortable floor as a primary outside receiver.
