Skyler Bell - Wide Receiver - UConn

1 - Route tempo & transition skillset

2 - Yards after catch tools

3 - Contested catch skillset & areas of improvement
Excellent top of route suddenness on in-breakers. Creates false steps with “flinch” tactic. Gets into the toebox of a defensive back which causes a small stumble mechanic to negate space closure.
Tempo & pathing is sound from both the slot as well as when he is working as a boundary receiver. Separates more consistently at the top of his routes than at the LOS. Above adequate feel for zone openings/closures & how to navigate throwing windows. His YPRR being above 3.0 vs Man & Zone shows up on tape.
Can get pinned to the boundary at times with aggressive corners - a broadened toolbox at the LOS will help with this. Like Bell as a majority slot receiver with the ability to operate outside as a secondary option until he adds more to his early route game. Kendrick Bourne is a middle-of-the-ladder comparable when projecting future performance.
Combination of tactic, play strength & quickness is hard to stop in both open & closed areas. ++ screen receiver with the proper internal clock to be a higher volume option as an extension of a rushing attack.
Can force overplays as well as outrun defenders. Impressive toolbox of skills post catch - one of the better ball carriers at receiver in this 2026 cycle.
Combative when the ball is in air. Adequate technique & timing to win through contact, but lacks the length to win on contested overhead targets with consistency.
Profiles as a three-level winner at the next level. Extremely reliable in high leverage situations & looks to be one of those receivers who is a productive secondary option for a long while. Kendrick Bourne comes to mind as a close comparable statistically in terms of archetype.
